Sonicare Toothbrushes And Your Dental Health!

Two minutes. Ready? Set? BRUSH! Your dental health depends on your brushing habits! How long you brush, how you brush and what you brush with.  When it comes to toothbrushes, you have plenty of options to sort through as a consumer and they all have different levels of efficacy. At Montclair Smile Design, we recommend the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush!

We recommend this toothbrush because of how effective it is over a manual toothbrush as well as other electric brushes.   If you are interested in reading a short abstract on a scientific study of the Sonicare versus a manual toothbrush, click here!  In short, this study took a group of people who typically have the hardest time brushing in general (kiddos in braces) and gave some a manual toothbrush and the others a Sonicare. The results are astounding! Sonicare toothbrushes efficacy is so superior to that of a manual brush for overall dental health! It not only reduces plaque but improves gum health as well. This is just one of many studies that have been done and reinforce why Sonicare toothbrushes are our number one choice personally and our number one recommendation! Each employee at our practice owns one and never leaves home without it! Here’s what it looks like when Sonicare fans stay in one place:)dental health

Many of our patients own a Sonicare toothbrush, but be sure you have a current style to ensure that you are getting the best out of your time and energy spent brushing two to three times per day. The newer versions have a different attachment or brush head that has an increased sonic vibration frequency which helps to remove even more plaque above and below your gum line. Additionally, the older versions have a different point of attachment which required some interesting cleaning methods! This is an older version:
