Cosmetic Dentistry

We describe a smile design as a cosmetic enhancement of 4 to 10 upper front teeth to change their color, size, shape and function. This may be a result of excessive wear, chipping, missing teeth, gaps, crowding, discolorations or uneven gums. A smile design could include crowns, veneers, bridges, implants and gum recontouring, depending on what is presented to us. We use laser for gum sculpting and recontouring of “gummy smiles” or uneven tissue heights. These changes can make you chew better and look better all in one for years to come.
Porcelain veneers can be used to change the color, shape, and size of your teeth, whether you choose to restore one tooth or have a full-mouth makeover. Veneers are porcelain coverings for individual teeth which do not stain, are very strong and last a long time. They are esthetically natural and beautiful.
We offer 2 options for whitening. ZOOM!® is done in-office and is a great way to jump start your smile. We can also make you custom trays to do in-home lightening or to use for touch ups after ZOOM!® has been completed. Even subtle changes in the shade of your teeth can make you look years younger.

Invisalign® treatment consists of a series of clear aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually fabricated with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place.

Not only are these aligners practically invisible, you can remove them. This means you can eat your favorite foods and brush and floss normally.

Restorative Dentistry

Bridges consist of one or more replacement teeth anchored to the neighboring teeth on either side of the missing teeth. For strength, bridges are usually fabricated with porcelain baked over a metal or zirconia substructure. In some cases, more conservative and esthetic options can be used.
Implants are a great alternative to bridges and ideal for replacing missing teeth. An implant is a synthetic root which becomes incorporated into your bone and supports a crown to look and function like a natural tooth. Implants can also be used to anchor dentures or partial dentures to keep them from moving while you are eating or talking.
Today, there are highly esthetic, conservative crowns that replace only the part of the tooth that is filled or decayed. A crown can replace old large fillings to protect and strengthen your tooth. Crowns mimic the natural tooth in strength and beauty and better preserve the health of your surrounding gums.
Full Mouth Reconstruction is the rebuilding and restoring of all your teeth to ideal proportion and function. Many adults who have severely worn or damaged teeth, jaw problems, trauma or extensive decay require a more comprehensive rehabilitation. Often patients have had multiple crowns and fillings at different times and perhaps with different dentists, resulting in unmatched teeth and an uneven bite. Dr. Becker has an advanced understanding of how to harmonize teeth to give you an ideal bite, comfortable chewing and a beautiful smile where all the teeth match esthetically.

General Dentistry

Our team of great hygienists understand that you would like to keep your teeth for a lifetime. Because the gums and underlying bone are the foundation for your teeth, we want to educate you and provide insightful feedback on ways to keep them healthy.

We call the mouth “the gateway to the body” so we want to control the bacteria in your mouth so it won’t travel through your bloodstream and affect your overall health.

Are you tired of feeling tired? Are you or a significant other snoring? It may be sleep apnea, which can greatly decrease oxygen to your brain. At Montclair Smile Design, we can help put sleep apnea to rest by fabricating custom snore guards and other therapies.
The jaw joints are part of the chewing system along with the muscles, bone and teeth. When the alignment of the joints is off, you can experience joint pain, popping or clicking, tooth wear, broken teeth and headaches. We use several appliances to treat TMJ depending on your symptoms. Our goal is to restore proper alignment and function.
All of our fillings are tooth colored resin for a natural look and better strength. They are the state of the art material for fillings and small chips in your front teeth.

We are now offering online virtual consultations with our doctor to answer your questions before coming into the office.
